Spain will hire 27,000 new civil servants. The surprise is that it is now looking for experts in AI, cybersecurity and data science

Spain has approved its 2026 public employment offer with more than 37,000 total positions.

Of those, 27,232 are for the General State Administration, alongside 1,700 tech-focused roles.

The new hires will target AI, cybersecurity, and data science to help modernize public services.

The plan also includes digital training courses for public employees and aims to ease staff shortages.
