Spotify ‘Studio’ Steals a Page from NotebookLM, Using Your Personal Info to Generate Podcasts

Spotify is testing Studio, an experimental desktop app that uses listening habits and optional user data to generate personalized AI podcast episodes.

The app can also research topics, organize information, browse the web, and help with tasks through integrations like calendar, inbox, and notes.

Studio is rolling out in beta to adults in more than 20 regions, marking Spotify’s push beyond streaming into AI assistance.

The move highlights Spotify’s broader ambition in personalized AI while raising privacy and competition concerns versus research tools like NotebookLM.
