Introducing Agent Skills

Anthropic launched Agent Skills for Claude, a modular way to load instructions, scripts, and supporting files only when they are relevant to a task.

Skills now work across Claude apps, Claude Code, and the API, with organization-wide management, custom skill creation, versioning, and programmatic control through a new skills endpoint.

Anthropic also highlighted built-in and partner use cases spanning Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PDFs, Box, Canva, and Notion.

The goal is to make Claude better at specialized workflows while packaging expertise in a portable open standard that teams can reuse across products.
