iOS 26.5 Will Add End-To-End Encryption For RCS Messages Between Apple And Android

Apple’s iOS 26.5 beta adds end-to-end encryption for RCS chats between iPhone and Android users.

The feature rolls out through supported carriers and is enabled by default in the Messages app.

It was previously tested in iOS 26.4 and reflects recent RCS protocol updates from the GSM Association.

The change closes a major privacy gap in cross-platform texting.
