Google announces Googlebooks with Gemini Intelligence focus, coming this fall

Google previewed Googlebooks, a new laptop category built on Android and ChromeOS foundations and launching this fall.

The devices will center on Gemini-first features, including contextual selection, generative widgets, Magic Pointer, and phone app casting.

Google also said it will support existing Chromebook users, signaling a broader transition rather than a hard replacement.

The move reflects Google’s push to make its laptop ecosystem more AI-driven and more tightly connected across devices.
