Two New Jersey Men Jailed for Helping North Korean IT Workers Infiltrate 100+ Companies

Two New Jersey men, Kejia Wang and Zhenxing Wang, were sentenced for helping North Korean IT workers pose as U.S. residents to land remote jobs at over 100 companies.

Prosecutors said the scheme used shell companies, fake accounts, and a server farm to disguise the workers’ locations and access U.S. employer systems.

The operation ran from 2021 to 2024, generated millions for North Korea, and included charges tied to fraud, money laundering, identity theft, and sanctions evasion.

The case highlights how North Korean operatives used U.S.-based facilitators to steal jobs, move money, and create national security risks.
