Tap to Pay on iPhone Launches in South Africa

Apple has launched Tap to Pay on iPhone in South Africa, expanding its contactless payment feature to a new market.

The first supported platforms are iStore Pay and Yoco, allowing merchants to accept payments directly on an iPhone without extra hardware.

Businesses can take contactless cards and digital wallets using NFC, with support currently limited to Mastercard and Visa.

The rollout offers South African merchants a cheaper, simpler way to handle in-person payments with modern checkout tools.
