NASA restarts work to support Europe's uncrewed trip to Mars after years of setbacks

NASA says it will again support ESA’s Rosalind Franklin Mars rover mission, with a SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch now planned no earlier than 2028 from Kennedy Space Center.

The US will provide launch support, braking engines, and heater units to help the rover reach and operate on Mars.

The restart gives the long-delayed mission a clearer path after years of setbacks and changing partners.

Rosalind Franklin will continue toward Oxia Planum to search for signs of past life on Mars.
