Governance, not gatekeeping: How SAP brings enterprise-grade safety to AI connectivity

SAP has issued a unified cross-portfolio API policy that brings together existing product-level limits across its cloud services.

The company says customers can still use their own custom interfaces, but SAP’s unreleased internal APIs remain off-limits, including some explicitly unpermitted ones.

The policy is meant to improve security, stability, and governance as AI agents and other automated tools put more load on enterprise APIs.
