A large real-world study found EV batteries lose much less range than many buyers fear.

Recurrent analyzed over a billion miles of driving data and found EVs retain about 97% of original range after three years and 95% after five years.

Some brands showed little to no noticeable range loss, helped by battery buffering and software updates.

The findings could ease range anxiety and boost confidence in both new and used EVs.
