Google’s new tool will end the long wait for iOS apps to appear on your Android phone

At Google I/O 2026, Google previewed Migration Assistant in Android Studio, an AI tool for porting iOS, React Native, and web apps to native Android.

The assistant can map app features, convert assets, and guide builds using recommended Android libraries, including Jetpack Compose.

Google says the tool is meant to make Android app porting faster and easier for developers.

If it delivers, it could shorten the gap between iPhone and Android app launches.
