Google's smart home becomes Gemini-based: "Gemini for Home" launches support in Japan

Google began early access to Gemini for Home in Japan on the 9th.

It is a new AI assistant for smart home devices and will replace Google Assistant over time.

It handles natural conversation, keeps context, and can interpret vague or complex commands.

Supported devices include Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, Home Max, Nest Mini, Nest Audio, Google Home, and Nest Wifi point.

Google Home Premium Advanced costs ¥2,000 a month or ¥20,000 a year and includes Gemini Live.
