Cannabis use is surpassing alcohol and tobacco… “21.4 million Americans use it daily, inhaling every day”

A U.S. SAMHSA survey found 21.4 million people aged 12+ used cannabis daily or near-daily in the past year, exceeding daily cigarette smokers (19.9 million) and daily drinkers (17.2 million).

Alcohol still had the largest total number of users overall, but repeated cannabis use was especially high among ages 18-25 and 30s-50s.

The findings suggest daily cannabis use is becoming more common than daily alcohol or tobacco use in the U.S., raising fresh concerns about addiction, health risks, and regulation.
