Otti Pushes Ambitious Abia Seaport Plan, Seeks Tinubu’s Backing to Open Southeast Maritime Corridor - Tekedia

Governor Alex Otti has unveiled plans to revive the Azumini–Obeaku seaport and inland waterways corridor in Abia State.

He ordered an accelerated feasibility study after talks with China Harbour Engineering Company.

The state will seek approvals from President Tinubu, the Nigerian Ports Authority, and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

If approved, the project could cut logistics costs and reduce the Southeast’s dependence on Lagos ports.
