Subculture event “KitaCon” to be held in Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido, in November to avoid the baseball off-season and snowfall

Kitahiroshima City in Hokkaido will launch a new pop culture event, "Kita Con," focused on anime, games, manga, cosplay, and decorated cars.

The first event is set for November 14-15, 2026, with a logo currently open for public submissions.

Organizers are also preparing a character for the event.

The schedule was designed around Hokkaido's local conditions, avoiding heavy snow and the pro baseball off-season.
