LinkedIn Won’t Be Expanding Its Data Centers in the Next Year

LinkedIn will not expand its data center footprint or increase GPU investment this fiscal year, instead keeping compute and storage levels steady.

The company said it has doubled GPU efficiency over the past six months, allowing it to support new generative AI features without major infrastructure additions.

The move stands in contrast to heavier AI infrastructure spending by OpenAI, Meta, and Google and points to a more disciplined approach.

It suggests that efficiency gains may become as important as raw scale in the next phase of AI competition.
