California defeats Tesla's attempt to throw out racial discrimination lawsuit

A California judge denied Tesla’s bid for summary judgment in a racial discrimination lawsuit.

The case, brought by the California Civil Rights Department, alleges harassment, discriminatory assignments, pay disparities, retaliation, and other unequal treatment of Black workers.

Judge Peter Borkon said the evidence could support the claims and was enough to send the case toward trial.

He also noted Tesla’s policies and training alone did not prove discrimination was absent.
