Google finally explains why the AICore app is eating up your storage

Google says AICore may briefly use a lot of storage while downloading and testing new on-device AI models in the background.

It keeps both the old and new model versions for up to three days so it can roll back quickly if an update fails.

Once the new model is stable, AICore automatically frees the temporary space.

The update explains why some Android phones may suddenly show large system storage use, especially on devices using Gemini Nano.
