NASA Releases Sweeping Plans for Moon Base

NASA announced hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to help build Moon-base hardware and support a longer-term lunar presence.

The plan includes a sequence of cargo landings, rover deployments, and drone tests before crewed Artemis landings later in the decade.

Partners include Blue Origin, SpaceX, Firefly Aerospace, Astrolab, Lunar Outpost, and Astrobotic, with missions aimed at the lunar South Pole.

The effort signals a major U.S. push for lunar infrastructure, though delays or technical failures could still disrupt the timeline.
