Google Messages is finally getting the chat customization feature everyone wanted

Google Messages beta is testing a new Chat themes menu that replaces Change colors.

The feature lets users pick preset wallpapers or choose a photo from the Gallery as a chat background.

A reset option is included, making it easier to return to the default look.

The update brings Google Messages closer to rival chat apps and may matter more as Samsung Messages is phased out.
