3D printing enthusiast smashes 59-second 3DBenchy for new speed world record — Minuteman 3D printer with revamped bed motion system breaches minute mark

Yan Roetz used a redesigned Minuteman 3D printer to finish a 3DBenchy in 59 seconds, breaking the 60-second barrier.

He improved the bed motion system by cutting moving mass and using carbon fiber and custom parts to raise acceleration.

The printer was already tuned for fast filament flow and cooling, helping it sustain the extreme print speed.

The sub-minute result, shared in the project’s 20th episode, sets a new benchmark for hobbyist high-speed FDM printing.
