NTT and OptQC form capital and business alliance on optical quantum computers, aiming for 1 million qubits

NTT and OptQC have formed a capital and business alliance, with NTT set to invest in the startup.

The two companies will work together on R&D, commercialization, use-case development, supply-chain setup, and social implementation.

They also signed a joint research agreement through fiscal 2027 to scale qubits with wavelength multiplexing and improve fault tolerance.

Their long-term goal is to realize a million-qubit-class optical quantum computer by fiscal 2030.
