A Nintendo Switch 2 owner says a fake Pragmata cartridge bought from Amazon Resale damaged the console’s cartridge reader.

The cartridge turned out to be a hollow counterfeit, and after it was removed the system could no longer read legitimate game cards.

The incident highlights how counterfeit or poorly inspected used games can do more than waste money—they can also damage hardware.

It also raises fresh concerns about risks in resale marketplaces for buyers of physical Nintendo games.
