xAI's new Custom Voices feature turns a minute of speech into a usable voice clone

xAI launched Custom Voices, letting users create a usable voice clone from about a minute of natural speech in under two minutes.

The cloned voice can be used in xAI’s text-to-speech and voice agent APIs, with no extra charge for cloned voices.

xAI added safeguards such as passphrase-based identity checks and voice comparison to reduce impersonation risk.

The xAI console also now offers a library of 80+ voices across 28 languages, expanding its audio tools for developers and enterprises.
