Amazon Redshift gets a Graviton boost with new RG instances

Amazon Redshift has launched new RG instances powered by AWS Graviton processors.

Amazon says the new instances deliver up to 2.2x better warehouse performance than RA3 at 30% lower cost per vCPU.

A new integrated query engine is enabled by default, letting users query Redshift tables and S3 data without Redshift Spectrum charges.

The RG release supports existing IAM and external table setups, with migration paths from RA3 and immediate availability in several regions.
