Why AI agents give confident wrong answers

Snowflake says enterprise AI agents are failing in a new way: the same data can yield different answers across BI, SQL, and agent tools because business logic is fragmented.

At Summit 26, Snowflake unveiled Horizon Context and Cortex Sense, a two-layer context system designed to keep business definitions shared and governed across retrieval stacks.

Horizon Context lets customers add explicit metadata to the Horizon Catalog, while Cortex Sense infers extra context from data and usage patterns.

Snowflake also announced Data Stream, compute and Iceberg interoperability updates, plus new agent and coding features, and linked the effort to the Open Semantic Interchange for portability.
