Facebook launches "Facebook Verified," a verification system that proves you're human, not a bot; selfie verification is available and it costs nothing

Facebook has launched a new free human-verification feature, Facebook Verified, in select regions.

Users can sign up with a selfie, and a badge appears on profiles and some features after verification.

The badge is expected to expand to more parts of Facebook over time.

The rollout could help users identify real people as AI bots and impersonation rise across social platforms.
