The study also identified changes at additional Alzheimer’s-linked phosphosites, suggesting broader effects on Tau biology.

Proteomics analysis pointed to altered kinase activity, including GSK-3β, and shifts in Rho GTPase signaling.

These results may help explain why lithium trials in Alzheimer’s have produced mixed outcomes and could guide better lithium-based therapies.
