New AMD Linux patch boosts low-end gaming performance on Steam Deck

An AMD Linux kernel patch dynamically boosts busy cores to performance mode when load spikes, then switches them back to energy-saving EPP mode.

Early Civilization VI tests showed a strong improvement in 1% low FPS and a smaller gain in p99 frame times.

Average FPS stayed roughly unchanged, but frame hitches were reduced.

The change could make Steam Deck-class handheld gaming smoother without sacrificing battery-conscious tuning.
