Private Instagram messages will no longer be encrypted, Meta says

Meta will stop end-to-end encryption for Instagram private messages, meta said end-to-end encryption for Instagram private messages will no longer be supported after May 8.

Instagram Help Centre stated that end-to-end encryption will no longer be supported after May 8, an update to Instagram’s Help Centre set the date when support ends.

Meta will be able to see contents of user messages that had been encrypted, meta will be able to access the contents of messages for users who had encryption enabled previously.
