AI Promised the Audemars Piguet x Swatch Wristwatch. China Will Deliver It

Swatch and Audemars Piguet unveiled a Royal Oak-inspired pocket watch using a new hand-wound Sistem51-based movement.

The collaboration keeps Audemars Piguet’s luxury image intact while delivering a lower-priced product with strong PR appeal.

Because the case is removable, third-party makers are already expected to create strap adapters, especially in China.

That could turn the pocket watch into a wristwatch aftermarket product as Swatch looks for ways to support sales in Greater China.
