Fivetran donates its SQLMesh data transformation framework to the Linux Foundation

Fivetran donated SQLMesh to the Linux Foundation.

SQLMesh is an open-source data transformation framework that lets data teams define, test, and deploy SQL-based transformations.

Founding members supporting project governance include ATOMS, Benzinga, Harness, Infinite Lambda, Jump AI, and Minerva.

SQLMesh came to Fivetran when Fivetran acquired Tobiko Data in September 2025; Tobiko Data was founded by Toby Mao, Tyson Mao, and Iaroslav Zeigerman.

The SQLMesh-based cloud service reached general availability exactly one year before the donation; Anjan Kundavaram is Fivetran's Chief Product Officer.
