China actively targeting Taiwan's chip talent and technology, security report says

Taiwan's National Security Bureau reported that China is seeking to recruit semiconductor talent from Taiwan via indirect channels.

The report says China is attempting to steal technology and obtain controlled goods related to semiconductors.

The bureau recorded more than 170 million attempted cyberattacks on Taiwan's government network in Q1 2026 and warned of possible election influence using deepfakes and fake polls.
