Microsoft launches 3 new AI models in direct shot at OpenAI and Google

Microsoft unveiled three in-house AI models—MAI-Transcribe-1, MAI-Voice-1, and MAI-Image-2—available via Foundry and MAI Playground.

MAI-Transcribe-1 reported a 3.8% average WER on the FLEURS benchmark and outperformed several competitor models across top languages.

MAI-Voice-1 and MAI-Image-2 deliver faster generation and commercial pricing, and Microsoft is testing the transcription model inside Copilot and Teams.
