7 most stunning exoplanets discovered in recent years

JWST, VLT, TESS and other telescopes have recently spotlighted seven unusual exoplanets, deepening scientists’ view of planet formation, survival and atmospheres.

The group includes Beta Pictoris d, the rocky world BD+05 4868 Ab shedding material into space, and WISPIT-2 b, seen forming in a protoplanetary disk.

Also drawing attention are the lava-hot super-Earth TOI-561 b, 2M1510(AB) b orbiting two brown dwarfs, the debated habitable-zone candidate K2-18 b, and likely volcanic L 98-59 d.

Together, these worlds show how new instruments are revealing extreme planets that challenge existing models and sharpen the search for habitability and biosignatures.
