Transcribing the entire story of an anime and posting it on a site with images; operator found guilty

The Tokyo District Court found a company executive guilty for posting full transcriptions of anime and movie storylines with images and earning ad revenue.

The site reportedly reproduced content from works such as Overlord III and Godzilla-1.0 almost in full.

The ruling underscores that commercial full-text reposting can trigger criminal liability and may strengthen deterrence against piracy sites.
