Google's "Ask YouTube" turns video search into a conversation

Google is testing Ask YouTube, a conversational search experience that replaces standard video lists with AI-generated results.

The feature can combine text summaries, full-length videos, and Shorts, and it supports follow-up questions.

Early testing found at least one factual mistake, so the answers still need verification.

Access is limited for now to U.S. YouTube Premium users 18+ who opt in via youtube.com/new, with broader rollout planned later.
