Red Hat makes Ansible the ‘Trusted Execution Layer’ for Agentic AI

Red Hat launched Ansible Automation Platform 2.7, adding a tech-preview Automation Orchestrator for task-based, event-driven, and AI-driven workflows under one governance model.

The release includes MCP server support, broader LLM support in Ansible Lightspeed, a new automation portal and dashboard, and partner-oriented AIOps guidance.

It also adds OIDC-based Vault authentication with short-lived tokens to strengthen security and reduce credential exposure.

The update positions Ansible as a controlled execution layer for agentic AI, linking AI recommendations to real infrastructure actions with approvals and audit trails.
