Anthropic raises $65 billion, lifting its valuation to $965 billion in three months, surpassing OpenAI

Anthropic raised $6.5 billion in a Series H round led by Altimeter Capital, boosting its valuation to $96.5 billion.

The jump came just about three months after its Series G, nearly tripling its valuation and making it the most valuable private AI company, ahead of OpenAI.

Anthropic also unveiled Claude Opus 4.8, a new model aimed at coding and agentic work.
