MTG's Reality Fracture is breaking the rules of Magic in one clever way

Wizards of the Coast revealed Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming story-ending set, Reality Fracture, centered on Jace Beleren’s Echoverse.

Every booster pack will include a character and their alternate counterpart, creating a new lore-driven pack structure.

The set will feature variants of major planeswalkers like Chandra, Ajani, Liliana, Garruk, and Vraska.

Wizards says the design will not raise mythic rare rates, but could change how Magic links story, gameplay, and card distribution.

Reality Fracture is scheduled to launch on October 2, 2026.
