Microsoft responds to the issue of LG monitors displaying McAfee pop-up ads in Windows

Microsoft said it will work with LG to disable McAfee pop-up ads being pushed through LG monitor software on some Windows 11 PCs.

Reports found that connecting certain LG monitors could trigger Windows Update to install LG driver updates and the LG Monitor App Installer.

That installer showed promotional pop-ups, mostly for McAfee, prompting criticism after the issue spread online and was demonstrated by Gamers Nexus.

Microsoft said LG has agreed to turn off the McAfee pop-up inside the app.
