HBO Max is rolling out two AI-powered mobile discovery tools for U.S. users: HBO Max Shorts and Ask HBO Max.

HBO Max Shorts is a vertical video feed in testing on select iPhones, surfacing trailers, clips and bonus content based on watch history.

Ask HBO Max lets users search with natural language to find shows and movies more easily.

HBO Max says human editors use an in-house AI tool to pick compelling scenes, with plans to expand Shorts to more devices, markets and sports clips.
