Microsoft kills Gaming Copilot AI for Xbox consoles and mobile

Microsoft is ending development of Gaming Copilot for Xbox consoles and phasing out the mobile version.

The move reverses earlier plans to expand the AI gaming assistant beyond its PC beta to Series X|S and phones.

Microsoft said the feature no longer fits Xbox’s direction, making this a notable pullback in its gaming AI push.

The decision comes as Xbox faces revenue pressure and scrutiny over which products best align with its strategy.
