US Space Force closes decades-long GPS modernization chapter, pivots to next generation

The U.S. Space Force has completed its GPS III modernization with the launch of the final satellite, SV-10.

This marks the end of a decades-long upgrade that improves navigation accuracy and anti-jam resilience for both civilian and military users.

The next phase is GPS IIIF, with the first launch now targeted for 2027 after revised launch planning and faster mission execution.
