Most advanced memory ever produced in US could boost defense, industrial systems

Micron has started U.S. production of its most advanced 1α DRAM at its Manassas, Virginia fab.

The company plans to qualify the line by late 2026 and more than quadruple DDR4 wafer supply.

The move follows a more than $2 billion investment in domestic memory manufacturing.

It aims to strengthen the U.S. semiconductor supply chain for defense, industrial, automotive and AI-related uses.
