The loss of OnePlus in the US will sting but, sadly, won’t actually matter

9to5Google reports OnePlus is imminently shutting down much of its global operation.

OnePlus never gained significant market share in the US, with devices representing under 0.5% of active use by web estimates.

OnePlus phones stood out for large batteries and fast charging, but carrier and distribution failures limited US growth.

As a result, the brand’s possible exit is unlikely to change the US smartphone market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
