Wear OS 7 promises 10% better battery life and adds Gemini Intelligence for select 2026 models

Google announced Wear OS 7 at I/O 2026, promising up to 10% better battery life and a cleaner, widget-style watch interface.

Tiles are being replaced with widget-like layouts, and new features like Live Updates aim to make everyday smartwatch use more useful.

Google also confirmed Gemini Intelligence will launch only on select watches later in 2026, not on existing devices like the Pixel Watch.

A developer Canary build is already available, giving app makers an early look at Wear OS 7 and the new AppFunctions API.
