Gemini replacing Google Assistant on Android Automotive for 4 million GM cars

GM will soon replace Google Assistant with Gemini in eligible 2022-and-newer Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC vehicles with Google built-in.

The rollout will reach about 4 million U.S. cars over several months and include Gemini Live plus new help for trip planning, messaging, playlists, podcast summaries, and routing.

To use it, drivers will need OnStar, a Google Play sign-in, U.S. English, and opt-in enrollment.
