Google Cloud Announces Public Preview of ‘Cloud Run Sandbox,’ Which Can Instantly Isolate and Safely Run Generative AI Code

Google Cloud has launched Cloud Run Sandboxes in public preview for isolated execution of untrusted generative AI code.

The sandboxes boot instantly and are designed for browser, file, and agent tasks that need stronger containment.

They block service variables and the metadata server, deny outbound network access by default, and use a read-only filesystem with temporary memory writes.

The release gives AI apps a faster, scalable way to run risky code while reducing data loss, unauthorized access, and malicious network activity.
