Google announces ‘Skills’ for Gemini in Chrome to quickly run custom workflows

Google is adding a Skills feature to Gemini in Chrome on desktop, letting users launch saved prompt workflows with a slash command.

Skills can be applied to the current page or selected tabs, and users can browse prebuilt options for tasks like Learning, Research, Shopping, and Writing.

Sensitive actions still require confirmation, and saved Skills sync across signed-in Chrome desktop devices.

The rollout makes repeated tasks faster and more practical while expanding AI-assisted browsing.
